The two-day workshop aimed to introduce to technical committee members the input, output, outcome and impact indicators of the strategy, indicator description cards as well as the calculation method for each indicator.
HPC Program Director, Dr. Sawsan Da’ajah, said during the workshop that the strategy offers a reference framework for stakeholders in Jordan and can be used to develop or align institutional plans, or incorporate into them the necessary inputs to achieve comprehensive access to integrated reproductive and sexual health services and information to ultimately achieve the wellbeing of families in Jordan.
Dr. Da’ajah noted that the strategy comprises four key pillars, namely the enabling environment, services and information, community, and sustainability and governance pillars. The strategy adopts the targets of the 2030 Sustainable Development Goal 3 on health, the targets of the Global Strategy for Women's, Children's and Adolescent's Health (Every Woman, Every Child 2016-2030), the targets of the Multi-sectoral Arab Strategy for Maternal, Child, and Adolescent Health, as well as the targets of the Regional Conceptual Framework for Integrating Sexual and Reproductive Health in Primary Health Care.
A monitoring and evaluation process has been developed for the strategy to allow planning experts and policy-makers to evaluate the effectiveness of the tools and methods used to identify and define progress against goals, thereby reinforcing and ensuring the sustainable impact of policies and programs and enabling the sharing of expertise among stakeholders.
The strategy’s indicators are classified into input, process, output and outcome indicators, linked to goals, and assigned baseline and target values covering the period of 2019 to 2030 to ensure the achievement of the 2030 SDGs indicators. In addition, the monitoring and evaluation plan includes card templates for each indicator to help unify data collection methods and adopts standardized reporting templates.
