The Higher Population Council in cooperation with ICF international is conducting a training workshop on the  “ Analysis of trends based on the results of the Population and Family Health Surveys in Jordan" for 2 weeks starting today. 


The workshop will enhance and develop the skills and capabilities of national organizations participating in the workshop on analyzing the results of the Population and Family Health Surveys in Jordan for the years (1990-2012) and population trends using (SPSS) programs. 


The survey's contribute to the evaluation of  population policies and health programs in the Kingdom, and provide interested researchers and experts with indicators for analyzing demographic trends, conduct international, regional and national comparisons studies. 


The participants will work on specific topics, such as child health, nutrition, maternal health and family planning so as to obtain the trends of the 20 selected indicators with their interpretations and statistical significance. 


The workshop participants  include  the Ministries of  Health, Education and Labor, the Departments of  Statistics and Civil Status & Passports), Higher Population Council, National Council for Family Affairs, Jordanian Nursing Council, the Higher Council for Science and Technology, King Hussein Foundation, Mutah University, Royal Medical Services, The Eastern Mediterranean Public Health Network (EMPHNET).


It is noteworthy to mention that one of the main objectives of the Higher Council is to provide information and population indicators that will assist policy makers in developing strategies and national development plans and to support the participation of government and civil society organizations in the planning, management and implementation of development programs and projects.
